How to look after your diving retractor

  • To extend retractor life in salt water and chlorine environments, we recommend rinsing the unit after each use. This will prevent the formation of salt crystals on the metal components.
  • Most retractors are designed for easy cleaning so that you can flush sand and debris from internal mechanisms.

Manual Flushing Instructions:

  • Operate unit in fresh water (extending and retracting) for 5 to 10 cycles.

If the retractor is packed with sand or debris, submerge the retractor in fresh water with line facing upward. Allow it to fill with fresh water. Turn the retractor so line faces down and operated rapidly 5 to 10 times. Repeat if necessary.
